Victoria and Albert Museum

Victoria and Albert Museum often abbreviated to the V&A is is named after Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. Like the other museums in Kensington, it was part of the Great Exhibition of 1851 and was known as the Museum of Manufactures and included Science exhibits before they were relocated to the science museum. Today it has some 4.5 million exhibits including renaissence ceramics, costumes, furniture glass etc. It is at the forefront of conservation and educational research in these fields.
