Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is located in the small town of Windsor that is 20 miles to the West of London, but it is still regarded as a London attraction. It is the Official Residence of the Queen and has been the main home of the monarch since .

Windsor Castle was first built by William the Conqueror and so has a history spanning 1000 years. However much of the Castle has been rebuilt and expanded over the centuries and the buildings that we see today owe a lot to the 19th century.

Visitors are allowed into certain buildings at Windsor and to see some of the amazing rooms. St George's Chapel should also not be overlooked as it has a wonderful serene atmosphere with a deep sense of history.
